Why are some medications dosed in units as opposed to metric measurements?

I am an RN, and the most glaring examples I can think of are pressors. Levo, epi, and neo are dosed in mcg, whereas vaso is dosed in units. Hi, anyone know what the VA new pharmacist orientation week is like? Email says 5 days of orientation which seems excessive, I was thinking it would be one day of NEO then training begins for the position I was hired on for. Is the orientation fully 8 hours each day?
